Flooring - Laminate vs Tile

When Renovating, you will need to choose flooring. Vinyl flooring is a synthetic material that has a thick layer of plastic material to protect it from damage and wear. Laminate flooring, on the other hand, uses multiple layers of material – both PVC and synthetic with a top wear layer. Laminate comes in large sheets, while vinyl is quite often laminated onto existing plywood or MDF board to make the final product. When choosing between the two, remember that laminate is more of a one-time purchase since it will last for years while vinyl requires recoating every few years depending on traffic.
